At Helping Hands Transportation & Child Care, LLC, transportation is about much more than getting you from one location to another. Our goal is to provide families with a dependable transportation option were Safety, Communication, Comfort, Accountability, and Care are part of every ride.

Transportation We Plan to Provide
Transportation services may include:
School morning drop-offs
Afternoon school pick-ups
After-school program transportation
Sports practices and activity pick-ups
Transportation to approved extracurricular activities
Evening transportation for families with extended work schedules
Other pre-approved destinations based on availability
All transportation arrangements must be approved in advance, and children will only be released at authorized locations and to authorized individuals according to the information provided by the parent or guardian.
Safety Comes First
Your child’s safety is our highest priority. Helping Hands will follow established transportation and emergency procedures designed to provide a safe and organized experience from pick-up through drop-off.
Safety practices include:
Seat belt use for every rider
Age- and size-appropriate child safety seats or booster seats when required
Verification of authorized pick-up and drop-off information
Vehicle safety checks
Emergency contact information maintained for each child
First-aid supplies available during transportation
Emergency and safety procedures
Periodic safety drills and age-appropriate safety instruction
Safe loading and unloading procedures
Children accounted for before departure and after arrival
No child intentionally left unattended in the vehicle
Clear parent communication regarding transportation concerns or emergencies
Parents are responsible for providing accurate information regarding their child’s age, height, weight, medical needs, allergies, and any other information necessary to determine appropriate transportation accommodations.
Helping Hands Rider Identification Lanyards
Each enrolled rider may receive a Helping Hands identification lanyard as an additional organization and identification measure.
The child’s identification information will correspond with our transportation records so that riders can be properly accounted for during pick-up, transportation, and drop-off.
Children will be taught that their Helping Hands identification is an important part of our transportation routine and should be kept secure.
GPS Location Monitoring
Helping Hands recognizes how important peace of mind is when someone else is transporting your child.
GPS location monitoring may be available during active transportation service, based on the tracking system in use.
When available and authorized, this feature can provide additional reassurance to parents while their child is actively being transported.
GPS information is intended for transportation safety and coordination and does not replace direct communication between Helping Hands and the parent or guardian.
Child Safety Seats & Booster Seats
Children who require a car seat or booster seat based on applicable safety requirements must ride using the appropriate restraint.
Helping Hands will work with parents before transportation begins to determine the child’s safety-seat needs. Parents must provide accurate age, height, and weight information and follow any requirements outlined in the Parent Registration Package.
Children will not be transported without the appropriate required safety restraint.
Emergency Preparedness & Safety Drills
Children will receive simple, age-appropriate instructions about safe behavior while riding with Helping Hands.
Safety preparation may include:
Proper vehicle entry and exit
Remaining seated and properly restrained
Listening to the driver during transportation
What to do during an emergency
Safe evacuation procedures
Staying together at designated safe locations
Understanding that emergency instructions must be followed immediately
Periodic transportation safety drills may be conducted so children are familiar with procedures before an actual emergency occurs.
Snacks & Drinks
We understand that children may be hungry or thirsty after school or activities.
Snacks and drinks may be permitted only when approved by the parent or guardian through the Parent Registration Package and when it is safe and appropriate to do so.
Parents must disclose known food allergies, dietary restrictions, medical concerns, or choking-related considerations.
Certain foods or drinks may be restricted inside the vehicle for safety, cleanliness, allergy, or choking-prevention purposes.
Music During the Ride
Helping Hands wants children to have a comfortable and positive riding experience.
Age-appropriate music may be played during transportation. Music will be selected with children and families in mind and should not contain inappropriate, explicit, violent, or sexually suggestive content.
Volume will remain at a level that allows the driver to safely operate the vehicle and communicate with riders.
Movies & Entertainment
During appropriate circumstances, children may be allowed to watch age-appropriate television programs, movies, or other approved entertainment on a designated device.
Entertainment will never interfere with transportation safety or driver attention.
Content will be selected based on age appropriateness and any permissions or restrictions identified by the parent or guardian in the Parent Registration Package.
Parents may choose to restrict their child from participating in optional media or entertainment.
Personal Electronic Devices
Personal electronic devices may be permitted according to Helping Hands policies and parent preferences.
Children who are allowed to bring a phone, tablet, headphones, or other approved device are expected to use it responsibly.
Devices should not:
Distract the driver
Create excessive noise
Display inappropriate material
Be used to photograph or record other riders without permission
Interfere with another child’s comfort or privacy
Helping Hands is not responsible for lost, damaged, or misplaced personal electronics unless otherwise required by applicable law.
Parent Communication
Communication is an important part of our transportation service.
Parents are expected to keep Helping Hands informed of schedule changes, absences, alternate authorized pick-up arrangements, emergency contacts, and other information that could affect their child’s transportation.
Helping Hands may communicate important information concerning:
Pick-up and drop-off
Schedule changes or delays
Transportation concerns
Child behavior or safety concerns
Emergencies
Weather or road conditions
Changes affecting scheduled service
Parents should also notify Helping Hands as soon as possible when their child will not need a scheduled ride.
Authorized Pick-Up & Release
Children will only be released according to the authorization information provided by the parent or legal guardian.
Helping Hands may request identification, when necessary, before releasing a child to an authorized individual.
For safety reasons, transportation arrangements or release instructions should not be changed through a child alone.
Rider Expectations
Every child deserves a safe and peaceful ride. Riders are expected to:
Remain properly seated and buckled
Follow driver safety instructions
Keep hands, feet, and personal belongings to themselves
Treat other riders respectfully
Use appropriate language
Avoid behavior that distracts the driver
Respect the vehicle and other children’s belongings
Follow Helping Hands transportation rules
Serious or repeated unsafe behavior will be communicated to the parent or guardian and may require a transportation safety plan or other action.
